SERP Counter + Notes - Free SERP Tool for SEO

by Alexey BogomolovUpdated Feb 09, 2026

SERP Counter + Notes - Free SERP Tool for SEO shows a website’s actual organic ranking in Google — not only in the top 10, but across the entire paginated SERP. It counts organic results only and ignores everything that gets in the way of an accurate position check: ads and SERP modules like Products, People Also Ask, and similar elements.

You can install this Chrome extension for free using the link above, or scroll down and download it from my GitHub.

I built Google SERP Counter because I was tired of two things:

  1. Yrying to figure out a site’s real organic position while Google mixes in ads and SERP blocks, and

  2. Losing track of what I already checked when reviewing competitors.

The second part — the one I can’t imagine doing analysis without anymore — is SERP notes. You can leave a note for a specific URL or for an entire domain, and it will sit right next to that result in the SERP when you run into the competitor again. That’s how I track my “checkpoints”: backlinks, redirects, content changes — anything I don’t want to re-audit from scratch.

The extension is completely free and privacy-friendly: no accounts, no tracking. Notes are stored locally in chrome.storage.local and stay on your device.

You can choose whether to attach a note to that exact URL or to the entire domain. Notes can be as long as you need — they’re expandable and easy to read.

There’s also a color picker so you can match it to your browser theme (I’m team red and orange :)):

As I mentioned, it’s free — and it’s also open-source. You can check the code on my GitHub.
